MAIN GLOSSARY

Intestine
An organ in the digestive system that goes from the stomach to the anus. The intestine consists of a long, narrow section called the small intestine, and a shorter, wider section called the large intestine (or colon). The intestines are where food and water get broken down and absorbed, and where stool is created, stored, and eliminated from the body.
