Hormone
Chemicals that have a specific regulatory effect on some organs. Hormones are made by organs such as the pituitary gland, thymus, and ovaries, which release the hormones into the bloodstream. Hormones regulate many functions throughout the body including thirst, growth, and sexual maturity.
