MAIN GLOSSARY

BRCA2
BRCA2 (BReast CAncer 2) is a gene that, when mutated, significantly increases a person's risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer. Mutations in BRCA2 can also increase a person's risk of developing prostate and pancreatic cancers. In addition, researchers suspect that mutations in BRCA2 carry with them an increased risk for cancer of the lung, larynx (voice box), and skin (melanoma).
